Entries are ongoing and shall close on 15 Sep 2023 for the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, a free, online investment simulation for high school students (9th to 12th grade) and teachers. Students work in teams of four to seven, guided by a teacher as their advisor. Together, they learn about teamwork, communication, risk, diversification, company and industry analysis, and many other important aspects of investing.

About the Competition
Teams examine a brief case study featuring a potential client and are tasked with working collaboratively to meet that client’s short- and long-term investment goals as they try to win his or her business.

Equipped with an approved stock list (a selection of domestic and international equities) and the Wharton Investment Simulator (WInS), which allows them to buy and sell stocks, over the course of 10 weeks students develop an investment strategy, analyze industries and companies, and build a portfolio using $100,000 in virtual cash.

Each team must submit two deliverables throughout the competition in order to be considered an active team (and to receive a participation certificate).

The midterm report is due October 30, 2023, and the final report is due December 11, 2023.

Teams that fulfil the deliverable requirements will receive participation certificates.

Awards & Recognition:

All students on teams that submit both deliverables will receive participation certificates in February 2024. All semi-finalists and global finalists will also receive special certificates recognizing their achievements.

Each student member of the global champion team will receive a complimentary spot in online summer program, Future of the Business World or Essentials of Leadership.

Each student member from all 10 global finalist teams will have the course fee waived for the online course, Understanding Your Money.
